Tagged

Wow, it has been a couple weeks since either Debbie or I have posted anything on the blog. The last couple of weeks have been a blur primarily because we finally were able to move back into our house. It is so nice to be back. Too bad it is not likely going to last very long.

Well, it is getting to be past my bedtime so lets get right to the point. My good friend from law school, Lyndsay Peterson, has "tagged" Debbie and me. She actually tagged us a while ago but since we have been so busy moving, we just have not gotten around to responding. As the days have been passing, I have discovered that Lyndsay is not a very patient person when she is waiting for responses. Then again, I should have known better than to keep Lyndsay waiting. You do not want to get on her bad side. While we were in law school, there was an incident involving Lyndsay on the softball field when someone crossed her. All I can say about that incident is WOW! Hopefully, this post will get me back on her good side.

Without further adieu, here are my responses. Debbie will have to respond later when she gets a chance.

Best thing you cooked last week?
Jason: I did not cook anything last week and it is probably safer that way. The last thing I tried to cook was pasta roni to go with dinner. I proceeded to put the pan on the stove and turn the burner. I few minutes later, Debbie, in a panicked tone, asked me if the burner was on. I responded that it was on and she pointed to the stove making me aware that I had failed to remove the burner cover covering the burner that the pan was sitting on. Now, I could write an entire post on what I think about those dumb burner covers. Suffice it to say for now, that I do not get along with my wife's burner covers. She has different covers for every holiday, ever season, and in every available color! That was the second time I had forgotten to take it off before trying to cook something!

Debbie: I've deiced that it's a lot safer for our family if Jason stays out of the kitchen! I wasn't happy about having to replace another burner cover, but at least this time he didn't try to cook two boxes of pasta roni in a small pan and have it boil over everywhere!!!! The best thing I cooked last week was probably just Tacos. It was a busy week of unpacking so I didn't make anything fancy for dinner. However, I did mix a can of black beans in with the taco meat for some added nutrition and for the first time my kids ate beans without complaining. I wish I would have thought of this a lot sooner!

If money, time and babysitting were no object, where would you go and with whom?
Jason: I really could have a different answer for this question on any given day, at least for the location. Of course, wherever the destination, I would take my wife. However, there may be other invitees depending on where I would go. I would really like to go back to Argentina (where I served my mission), Europe (we are going this next summer for our 10th anniversary), and somewhere tropical like the Caribbean or Hawaii.

Debbie: Oh the possibilities!!!! I must admit I'm not the most adventurous person, I'm actually really content on just staying home most of the time (much to my husband's dismay). However, I've always wanted to go to Hawaii with my husband. The clear blue water and beautiful beaches just look so appealing. The only drawback is that I hate being in crowds of people. I would like to go where there are few people so I can just enjoy the beauty around me and the people I love.

When was the last time cried?
Jason: I have no idea. It has been a long time. However, I will say that crying for me in the future will likely have something to do with my kids. I love being a dad and seeing things in the media or in day to day life that remind me of how much I love being a dad can really touch me and pull on the emotion strings.

Debbie: Hmmm, probably when I read Alisa's blog and found out she had cancer. It really pulled at my heartstrings because I realized once again how precious this life is and how much I love my husband and children. You just never know when your life on earth will end.

5 things you were doing this month 10 years ago?
Jason: Dating Debbie, getting through my worst academic semester at BYU (thanks to dating Debbie - Organic Chemistry did not go so well), working so that I could pay for an engagement ring, hanging out with mission buddies that have now turned into life long friends, going to BYU football games.

Debbie: Wow, ten years ago this month was when I got engaged to my wonderful husband! I can't believe how fast time has passed. I was also enjoying my first year at BYU, working at the Shopko Pharmacy, living at home, and meeting life long friends.

5 things on your to do list today?
Jason: Get all the boxes in my house unpacked, get things organized, get my passport renewal sent in so that I can go to Europe next summer, get this post finished so that I can go to bed, schedule a permanent monthly date to go to the temple.

Debbie: 1. Stay sane while Jason is in Idaho and be patient with the kids 2. Do Laundry 3. Clean the upstairs bathroom 4. Make dinner 5. Update our blog (This one might take a few days).

5 favorite snacks?
Jason: Just about any type of sour candy, Keebler Bug Bites, Diet Dr. Pepper, ice cream, microwave popcorn.

Debbie: I love Candy! I know it's horrible, but sugar is my nemesis. I love licorice, sweedish fish, gummy bears, skittles, starburst, hot tamales, milk duds, sugar babies etc. I hate sour things! When I want to be healthier I enjoy a juicy sweet orange, Costco trail mix, carrots and ranch dip, raisins, Nature Valley's Sweet & Salty granola bars, Toasted wheat bread with homemade strawberry jam.

5 bad habits?
Jason: Eating too much junk, not closing the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen after getting something out of them, drinking out of the milk and juice jugs (beware if you come to my house for some milk or juice). I guess I only have three because I can't think of any more. (Would you like me to name a few? ha ha ha!)

Debbie: Nice Jason, I better not catch you drinking out of the milk jug!!! And Yes, Jason is horrible at closing drawers and cabinets. I always know when he has been in the kitchen because all of the cupboards are open! As for me, I don't have any bad habits.....j/k.
1. I suffer from allergies and my throat tends to itch a lot, so to compensate I make a weird noise with my throat to try and scratch it. It drives Jason nuts!!!! 2. I talk out of the side of my mouth all the time without realizing it. 3. I stay up late to watch T.V. or check my email, or to blog. 4. I can't go to bed if my kitchen isn't clean. 5. I eat way to much sugar!

5 favorite foods?
Jason: Just about any type of sour candy, Diet Dr. Pepper, Keebler Bug Bites, ice cream, microwave popcorn.

Debbie: My mom's homemade.....chime changas, chicken breast baked in cream, spaghetti, and cream of broccoli soup. Papa Murphy's, and Papa John's Pizza.

5 places I have been?
Jason: I have not been to many exotic places. I am going to change the question to places I have lived: (1) Los Angeles, CA; (2) Madras, OR; (3) Woodruff, UT; (4) Buenos Aires, Argentina; (5) Laguna Hills, CA. I could make an entirely separate list of phenominal places within the state of Utah but that will have to be another day.

Debbie: New York City, Washington D.C., Disneyland, Mexico, Lake Powell.

5 favorite memories?
Jason: Number one is the first date with my wife. (Thanks Babe) Numbers Two, Three, and Four are the births of my three children. There is a long list for number five. The first one that comes to mind is the best powder day I have ever had skiing. I was at Snowbird with my Dad and it was in the month of may (very rare).

Debbie: 1. The day I married my husband 2. The birth of my children. 3. The day I graduated from BYU with my husband 4. The day my husband graduated from Law-school, and the day he passed the bar! 5. Going on family trips with my eight siblings piled into the big red van we called "Norm."

Hooray that both of you commented! I knew this day would come!
Jason, I know of another bad habit you forgot to list: CALLING OUT YOUR FRIENDS FOR SIMPLE/NONVIOLENT ALTERCATIONS.
Sounds like Debbie isn't going to steal your sour candy, Jason.
You guys are great! Thanks for sharing.

That was awesome! I'm impressed. I learned many things. Thanks for taking the time to do it. Debbie, you can come save your sanity at my house any time Jason is gone. Especially if it means keeping you in Utah longer! I will even provide all the candy....
